some people like knitting...

...my hobby is going into abandoned places.
just found a bunch of links to photos of abandoned places. god i love this stuff. it makes me feel alive in a way i didn't know was possible.
i really should take more photos of places when i do break and enter. so far, i think i've only documented (or someone documented) only...2-3 of the places, being the flats, nixon (limitations are up on that fool! meaning i can talk about that all i want and not worry about any legal ramifications per nrs-but i digress) and that place the blm took the land to. oh, wait, 4 places, forgot about va city house. 5, the house that was moved, but those were awful camera phone photos that turned out badly and only 3 photos were taken.
which means i've not taken photos of about ...crap, i can't keep track anymore. too many amazing places i've not documented. i can see them in my mind, but it'd be great to have photos for when my mind goes...whenever that may be. as the great megan kay once said, "pictures are memories people!" and i really should use my camera more .
at anyrate, sometimes i forget how exciting the internet can be-like when you can find websites dedicated to abandoned places, or find photos of places like the island of gunkanjima in japan which was abandoned in 1974 (thanks holland reno blog!)

link to more photos of gunkanjima (they're all amazing) http://www.ne.jp/asahi/saiga/yuji/gallary/gunsu/g-text-e.html

but my ass is numb from sitting and i've done no work yet, perhaps i should get back to that now.....
